I’m a big believer in the fact that if you feel good, it shows. That’s why I try and make an effort with my appearance so that I feel better about myself, plus if I didn’t, Chris may run for the hills haha!
I don’t think I’m alone when I say that I enjoy putting on make up. I enjoy it being part of my daily routine, and the days I don’t wear it, are the days I don’t feel entirely myself.
I’ve always been a bit nervous of experimenting with make up in fear of someone judging the way I look and the choices I have made but my confidence is certainly growing now that I’m a mam.
The base and contouring | I use a combination between Mac Studio Sculpt NC37 and No.7 Warm Ivory. I often find that the Mac is too thick and the No.7 is too runny, but combined, it’s the perfect mix for my skin type and it gives me the closet match to my skin tone too. Contouring has to be one of my favourite parts of my daily routine. I begin with using the NYX double stick which is perfect for getting even lines in the areas you want to contour.
Eyes | I use the Naked Smoky palette by Urban Decay. I start with the shade Radar to cover the entire lid, then use Black Market for the crease and the lower eye. I then add black eyeliner (Avon Glimmerstick in blackest black) to my lids, creating a slight wing effect from the outer edge. I love full-looking lashes so I apply a coat of Subversion eyelash primer by Urban Decay to both my top and bottom lashes before applying my Urban Decay Perversion mascara.
Brows | I’m a huge fan of a bold brow, having quite dark eyebrows anyway, it’s my best option. I use the Eylure to shape my brows, then I fill them in with my Avon brow palette.
Blush and highlight | This Urban Decay Blushed palette features the most beautiful shade of blusher, especially for my skin tone. The shimmery highlight is also perfect for using on the cheekbones and T-zone for added glow.
Lips | I usually opt for my classic Cosmo Amplified by Mac. It’s a subtle nude-pink shade which adds just a hint of colour to my lips.
I do usually wear fake lashes just to boost the thickness of my natural lashes but I’m not wearing them here to show you my go-to make up look if I don’t have much time to spare.
I’d love to see your daily make up routines, share them below x
