When I was younger I never understood the importance of a good skincare routine, and if I could tell my 13-year-old self (when make-up became my life) one thing, it would be to make sure my skin was fully cleansed before caking on the foundation.
Now, as a 22-year-old I am obsessed with making sure my skin is kept looking healthy, feeling soft and fully nourished. I’d previously bought creams and lotions that I’d throw away after a couple of uses as they didn’t care for my skin in the way I’d hoped, and I’d almost given up on finding something that was ‘right’ for me.
That was until my 21st birthday when my mam and dad treated me to a whole range of Clinique goodies. To be honest, I didn’t even realise there was so many different types of products until then. I remember feeling a little overwhelmed that I had to use so many different products every day just to keep my skin looking healthy and to be honest, I think my mam probably doubted I’d maintain using them.
But a year and a bit later and I’m still in love with the feeling these products give me. Inside, and most importantly, outside I feel wonderful. I feel good in the knowledge that I’m caring for my skin the way I should be and also my skin is noticeably in better condition than it ever has been.
MY ROUTINE | I start off by applying a small amount of the liquid facial soak onto a cotton pad and rubbing over my face. This is perfect for helping to remove any stubborn make up too. I usually use a couple of pads to cover my entire face.
Once I’ve gone over my whole face, I then apply some of the clarifying lotion onto another cotton pad and rub into my skin. I always feel like this lotion really cleanses my skin and I instantly feel refreshed after using it.
I suffer with quite puffy eyes and this eye lotion is literally amazing! I dab a small amount onto each lid and gently rub around all of the eye area. It gives me an instant lift and makes such a difference to my every day look.
To finish off, this moisture surge cream is my favourite part of my routine. A little goes a long way and rubbed into the face and neck area is perfect for nourishing the skin. I’d honestly be lost without it.
What are your favourite skincare products? I’d love to hear what works for you 🙂 xx
