Looking for a cheap and easy way to get some sensory play into your little one’s routine? Sensory is a vital part of your child’s development and this simple DIY will help them learn, explore and play ’till their hearts content.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED |
- A hula hoop
- Variety of ribbons
- Variety of fabrics
- Sensory items
There’s not really a correct way of doing this. Simply lay out all of your supplies, cut out your ribbons and fabrics to size and begin adding them to your hoop. I began by adding all of the ribbons and fabric pieces and soon realised that it would be fun to add some more items that Archie would be able to play with too.
I continued to add teething rings and other objects I thought he may like to touch. Household items are perfect for sensory play. Here are some of the items I added.
A bath sponge.
A crocodile teether.
A plastic spoon.
I really like the additional colours that these items have brought to the hoop but I love that blue is the dominating palette. You could use any colours you like or perhaps try a rainbow colour scheme?
Archie seems to be a fan already! I can’t wait to watch him discover new things every day.
