As this year draws to a close, I can’t believe I have an eight-month old in my arms. The past eight months have been a complete whirlwind, passing me by quicker than I care to think about.
You’re keeping us well and truly on my toes little man. Sitting still is no longer something you care to do and you’re forever pulling yourself up on the sofa, TV stand or even the Christmas tree! I’m finding it a challenge running backwards and forwards around the house as you seem to speed crawl everywhere you go.
I feel like each day you wake up and look at me with those big eyes and beautiful eyelashes, you seem so much older than you did the day before. Your smile is the most beautiful sight in the world and every day you make me more and more proud.
We’re so close to you making your first steps, I really don’t think it’s going to be long at all. You’re showing all of the right signs and if you’re anything like your daddy, your first footsteps will be just around the corner.
I heard you say ‘mama’ for the first time the other day and as expected, it melted my heart – it may have only been the once, but I am holding on to the fact you’ll be saying it properly soon. And of course the word ‘dada’ is on the tip of your tongue too, it really won’t be long till you’re calling us both by name.
I am so excited for your very first Christmas, and spending it all together as a family. I know you won’t understand much of it this year, but you’ll have such wonderful memories to look back on.
Love you, little man x
