I hoped that Archie would love bath time as much as his mammy and daddy do, and thankfully he does and it’s very quickly become our favourite part of the day for us as a family. It’s the time where each of us wind down from our stressful days. Chris is home and gets to spend some time with his son, and I get to relax a little because the load becomes shared. And well Archie gets to spend quality time with both of us.
We tried to get Archie into a routine as early into his life as possible as we thought (hoped) this would make life easier in the future. Thankfully he seems pretty happy with his usual bath, bottle then bed routine. Long may it continue.
Our little man has suffered from baby eczema pretty much from birth and it still flares up now and again, so we use this prescription lotion every bath time to avoid it getting any worse. It has helped tremendously, so if your little one suffers and you’re yet to find something that works, it may be worth speaking to your doctor.
Archie also has a really dry scalp due to cradle cap – something which is extremely common in babies. We use this cradle cap shampoo to wash his hair and we’ve seen a huge improvement. You can get it from most supermarkets or pharmacies for only a little over £2 a bottle. If you’d like to learn more about treating cradle cap, click here.
Once Archie is out of the bath and dry, we use Johnson’s baby powder all over which makes him silky soft.
Another cream we use to help with the baby eczema is this Aveeno cream. We got ours on prescription, but you can get it in most supermarkets and pharmacies. We apply a generous amount all over his body, which we also repeat at every nappy change.
What are your evening routines?
