This is one of those moments you dream about when your baby is growing inside you. Among all of the much-anticipated milestones, this is up there with one of the ones I was most excited for.
There’s something so special about Christmas, especially the first one as parents, so even though Archie of course doesn’t understand any of what is going on during the festivities this year, it was important to Chris and I that he was a part of the house decorating.
Of course things will never run smoothly with a seven-month-old baby and a 13-week-old puppy but we’re all for a good laugh. It even gave him the opportunity to practice his standing up skills – which by the way, are coming on tremendously. He loved searching through the box of baubles and of course testing out how they taste!
Archie also loved wrapping himself up in the pretty tinsel – and of course Winston loved running around the room with it too!
And don’t be fooled that Archie and Winston were the only ones dressing up in the decorations… Chris was having the best time dealing with the separating of the lights task haha!
But amongst all of the craziness, we had the most magical time. I don’t know if I was just imagining it but I really could feel the magic in Archie’s eyes. He was probably just wondering what the heck was going on with this new glittery object standing tall in the living room, but I know that it was there.
I can’t wait for the years that Archie can’t contain his excitement at the thought of putting up the Christmas decorations. I have a funny feeling we’ll get earlier and earlier with them each year!
