Although a lot of you may not be local to the Colchester area, I still wanted to rave about this lovely little cafe that I discovered for the first time this week. And it may inspire you to check out your local child-friendly venues too.
When you have children, you soon realise how inconvenient a lot of things become, like going for a coffee with your friends. They can be such dull, boring places for a little one, so it’s no wonder you may experience a few tantrums here and there. That’s why finding quirky little venues is key to making mum life that little bit easier.
The first thing that grabs your attention is the wonderful wooden teepee as you step foot through the door where your tots can enjoy playing hide and seek or dream up some imaginative play.
With books a plenty and toys bursting at the seams, there’s so much to entertain the little ones, and with a wonderful menu too, the grown ups can enjoy a much-needed catch up with friends.
I love the whole vibe it creates – a bit like popping round your grannie’s house or a friends – somewhere you can sit down and relax and let the kids play, knowing they’ll be safe and sound while you grab a cuppa.
There’s also plenty of choice when it comes to snacks and drinks for both you and your tots, so you can stay and play an entire morning and leave with full tummies and hearts.
I can’t wait for our next play date there and I know next time my mam comes down to visit, I’ll definitely be taking her here.
So if you do happen to be in the area, be sure to check out this wonderful little venue www.duckduckgoosecoffee.co.uk
