If there’s one thing we totally need to steal from our American friends, it’s their love for Halloween. Now that we have Archie here, all of these yearly traditions mean so much more than they ever have before.
We’ve always agreed that family time is so important and we’re so keen to keep these traditions going as Archie grows up.
I’d heard about The Pumpkin Patch, but we’d never been ourselves. I’m pretty sure we thought about going last year, but time ran away with us and it was Christmas before we knew it. But this year I wanted to make sure that we squeeze in everything to enjoy with Archie while he’s little too.
It was a lovely opportunity to get out and about as a family, and start our very own Halloween tradition. It’ll be so lovely to look back on the photos we take each year and see how Archie has grown. Although he was already very interested in the pumpkins this time, it’ll be great when he’s running around picking his own too.
I was so unbelievably impressed with the extent of the produce available. I’d heard about how good this place was, but I didn’t expect it to be as amazing as this, or have as many different varieties of pumpkins as it did. There’s even a corn maze to explore in the summer months – so we’ll most definitely be coming back for that!
Who knew there were so many different types of pumpkins? I’d always seen the really cool ‘blogger’ ones on Instagram but I somehow believed they were only in America. Chris had two littles to control when he realised how excited I was over these baby pumpkins!
A bed of orange as far as the eye can see, and there were so many sizes, shapes and colours, it was so hard to choose. I think if I’d have had my way, we would have come away with the entire plot!
It was lovely to see lot’s of other families enjoying the sunshine and spending time together. All of the children getting super excited about carving their pumpkins later and watching the dads all struggle pushing their wheelbarrows full was definitely cause for a great day out.
Not sure I’d be able to grow any in my garden though (hardly a green-thumbed kind of girl).
We even managed to find one perfectly-sized for Archie – how cute?
But this one’s ours…
Once we got home, we laid out all of our wonderful pumpkins alongside our cute little pumpkin…
Now I can’t wait for next year…
