If a drop of snow in December doesn’t scream out Christmas to you (in an excited child-like squeal) then I don’t know what will bring out the festive in you!
This weekend saw our very first drop of snow this festive season and we were all super excited to get out in it and build a snowman. Since moving to the South East, I’ve barely seen a drop of snow so to see a whole covering like this was amazing.
What made this snow day even more special is the fact that it was Archie’s and Winston’s first sight of snow. I hoped Archie would experience snow the way I did when I was younger, because as the years have passed, we just haven’t seen the same amount of snow as we once did.
Curious as ever, it wasn’t long before Archie had his hands out of his gloves and was picking up the snow to investigate it closer. He kept smiling away at it, like it was something really special which made my heart well and truly melt.
Of course what is a snow day without building a snowman? Unfortunately we still had a lot of fallen leaves on the ground so our snowman was far from the perfect white festive guy you will usually see, but we love him all the same.
After an unsure first toilet trip outside, Winston soon washed away any fear and became a snow dog for sure. Running around, chasing the snowballs and skidding in the built up snow piles.
It’s moments like this that make me treasure what I have. I’m so beyond lucky to have such a beautiful family.
When you thought this would be a lovely photo of the two of you, but he has other ideas…
Post-snowball in the back of the head face!
But this guy is looking as handsome as ever!
Did you enjoy a snow day this weekend?
