After having so much fun at our last Tots Play class we were super excited to venture back there this week. Archie has such a good time interacting with other babies and of course developing his senses, and this class is perfect for doing that and more!
There’s lots of fun songs and dance moves to get involved with, that are great for both you and your baby. It’s great to see your little one really interact with you when you’re singing to them and it’s something you can do at home too.
This class also includes baby massage, yoga and signing, which are all fantastic activities to help your little one develop. Both baby massage and yoga are a fantastic way of helping your tot relax. You can implement these techniques into your daily routine, like after they have had a bath, to relax them more before bedtime. Also, by encouraging your little one to sign it will help them to communicate easily with you, before they are able to properly speak.
Next came the sensory play which was all about sights and sounds. Of course this little magpie went straight for the shiny foil on the floor and wanted it in his mouth (teething is in full swing). It’s so great to see all of the household items you can use for sensory play too, as well as musical items like maracas and jingle bells.
I love how much this class promotes tummy time – it’s definitely what has helped Archie develop to the stage he’s at now. He’s so strong with his arms, neck and head and by taking part in as much tummy time as possible, he’s only getting better.
As there is a lot of focus on developing your baby’s senses, while building their strength, this little board with wheels on was a fantastic way of creating variety with tummy time. I had lots of fun pulling Archie around on it and he seemed to have a pretty good time too.
It was also a great way for him to play with all of the colourful and textured fabrics (which of course I loved too).
I was very pleased to have my mini workout scheduled into the class again and I actually think it was Archie’s favourite part too. No surprise really as it means him getting thrown about in the air which he loves – I’ll definitely be doing this more at home with him to the same songs we sang in class.
The classes are totally baby led which is a huge bonus as we all know our little ones can be very unpredictable. That means if your baby needs feeding, changing or just some extra love and attention then that’s totally fine. You have the freedom to do as much or as little during the class as your baby wants to.
Of course babies will most likely enjoy some parts more than others, which means the variety of activities this class boasts makes it great for all.
